Light and silence in the work of plensa

18 - 07 - 2026

Join us on July 18th for an evening of conversation and contemplation at Finca Bell-Lloc, where art, silence, and the work of Jaume Plensa meet beneath the summer sky, in collaboration with Enciclopèdia Catalana.

As summer settles over the Costa Brava, there are evenings that ask not for celebration but for stillness. On the night of July 18th, Finca Bell-Lloc opens its doors to a different kind of gathering — an evening dedicated to the work of Jaume Plensa, built around his sculpture Paula and the book Plensa · Macbeth · Verdi, published by Enciclopèdia Art, the art publishing imprint of Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana. Hosted in collaboration with Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana, this is an invitation to slow down, to look closely, and to listen. The conversation will be led by Pilar Parcerisas, one of the country’s most prestigious art critics, art historian and exhibition curator.

Set within the quiet landscape surrounding Finca Bell-Lloc, the evening unfolds as a conversation, an exploration of light, silence, and form through the lens of one of Catalonia’s most celebrated sculptors. Guests are invited to begin with a glass in hand and an open mind, surrounded by the same vines and stone walls that have always made this place feel suspended in time. For those who wish to stay longer, the evening continues into a shared tapas dinner prepared from our own land and farms, and for some, into a night spent at Finca Bell-Lloc itself, waking up the next morning still inside the conversation.

More than a talk, it is a moment to pause and look at art the way Plensa’s work seems to ask of us — with patience, with silence, and with attention. An evening suspended between sculpture, literature, and the quiet beauty of Finca Bell-Lloc.

Why join?

Because some evenings are meant for looking rather than rushing. Seats are intentionally limited to keep this a close, attentive gathering, where the work of an artist can be discussed in the same unhurried spirit it was made. If you are looking for an evening of art, conversation, and quiet beauty at the heart of summer, this is your invitation.
