Inspired by the MUGA documentary and the dedication of the community shaping this landscape? The Muga Valley Safari is your invitation to step into the story — not as a spectator, but as a participant. Over the course of three days, you will explore the wild, raw beauty of the Muga Valley and experience firsthand the regenerative work that has already taken root, and the ambitious vision that still lies ahead. This is not a tour. It is an immersion into a living landscape in transition.
The Muga Valley Safari is the ultimate learning journey for all ages, designed to inspire curiosity, deepen understanding, and create meaningful connection with nature and place. Whether you come as a family, a group of friends, or an individual explorer, you will leave with a renewed sense of perspective and possibility.
You will traverse hidden corners of the valley rarely seen by outsiders, walk through rewilding sites and restoration areas, and gain insight into the long-term commitment required to revive land, ecosystems, and rural communities. Along the way, you will meet members of the community who are actively contributing to this transformation.
A highlight of the experience is an intimate visit to the vulture observation post, where you can witness these majestic birds up close in their natural habitat, a powerful symbol of the valley’s ecological richness and resilience.
Between explorations, there is time to slow down. To breathe the pure mountain air. To listen to the wind moving through the trees. To hear the silence, and the subtle sounds, of a landscape reclaiming its vitality.
The Muga Valley Safari is for those who feel inspired by what they have seen and heard, and who want to deepen that inspiration through direct experience. Come discover the valley as it truly is: untamed, evolving, and full of possibility.
Although there is a lot to share with your fellow changemakers and a lot to do at The Home (e.g. always plants to plant, forests to thin, hikes and runs to do), don’t feel the pressure to do anything. If what you need is to lay in silence in the forest’s hammocks, have a massage or take a refreshing swim in the infinity pool that overlooks the Muga Valley, that is absolutely fine.
Every day, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the gardens surrounding The Home- planting seeds and herbs, chopping wood, and creating pathways. You can enjoy the joy of communal dining, with meals prepared by a chef cooking from scratch using local ingredients, mostly sourced from Brugarol Farm. At the end of the day, you can unwind with a meditative sound bath.
We advise our guests to use the train as much as possible. The nearby Fiqueres-Vilafant train station welcomes high-speed trains directly from Paris (with an easy transfer also from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Geneva, Zurich, Cologne, Frankfurt, etc.) and from all over Spain.
Those flying to Spain can choose from the airports of Girona or Barcelona, from where they can then opt for a high-speed train (AVE) to Figueres-Vilafant. From the stations Girona Central or Barcelona Sants, you can reach Figueres-Vilafant by train in just 25 or 50 minutes. On the day of arrival, we provide a shuttle service from the train station to The Home.
